Love Binti International at the Inaugural African Climate Change Adaptation Conference 2024

Love Binti International's WaSH Manager, Mr. Excel Swalle Kafeero received a formal invite to be a keynote speaker at the Inaugural African Climate Change Adaptation Conference held on October 7th-8th, 2024, at the Silver Spring Hotel in Bugolobi, Uganda hosted by Agape Earth Coalition. 

During the conference, Mr. Excel Swalle Kafeero, our WaSH Manager, accompanied by Ms. Neema Dumo, LBI's research associate were made privy to the nuanced discourse occuring in Africa to solve climate change concerns. Additionally, Mr. Kafeero contributed by lending his expertise at the Water Management Systems panel discussion on October 7th, sharing the stage with distinguished professionals from the agriculture, architecture, and policy sectors.

During the session, Mr. Kafeero highlighted a critical perspective: for Africa to effectively adapt to climate change, we must first "close the tap"—prioritising mitigation through targeted advocacy and resource allocation. He emphasised the urgency of addressing the root causes of climate vulnerabilities before adapting to their impacts. Through this lens, he shared insights from LBI’s initiatives, such as our rainwater harvesting filter systems and the utilisation of solar-powered hand pump boreholes, demonstrating practical and scalable solutions to enhance water resilience.

This conference underscored the power of collaboration, a value central to LBI’s mission. We extend our gratitude to Agape Earth Coalition for this opportunity to exchange knowledge and forge partnerships. Together, we can advance actionable solutions for a more climate-resilient Africa.
